The distinguished officials are slated to be in attendance during the Asia Cup matches taking place in Pakistan from September 4 to 7. The PCB had graciously extended invitations to several key officials, including the Secretary of the BCCI, Jai Shah, to partake in the event.

It’s worth noting that among the BCCI’s hierarchy, only President Binny and Vice President Shukla have been granted permission to embark on this journey to Pakistan. The Asia Cup’s inaugural match will unfold on August 30 in Multan, where Pakistan and Nepal will compete for victory.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah Set to Witness India-Pakistan Clash

In addition to Binny and Shukla’s presence, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is set to attend the highly anticipated clash between India and Pakistan, scheduled to be held in Pallekele, Sri Lanka, on September 2. Following this marquee encounter, all three dignitaries are expected to return to India on September 3. Subsequently, Rajeev Shukla, accompanied by Binny, will proceed to Lahore via the Wagah border. It’s worth mentioning that Rajeev Shukla had previously traveled to Pakistan in 2004 as part of the team led by Sourav Ganguly.

A Warm Welcome: -The Official Dinner

As part of the itinerary, both Binny and Shukla have been extended an invitation to an official dinner organized by the PCB in Lahore on September 4. It has been disclosed that these eminent BCCI representatives will also be in attendance for the Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka match on September 4, followed by Pakistan’s opening match in the Super Four round the following day.

India-Pakistan Clash: A Highlight of the Asia Cup 2023

The announcement of the Asia Cup 2023 schedule was made by BCCI Secretary and President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Jay Shah, on July 19. The tournament, commencing on August 30, is set to feature a total of thirteen matches—four in Pakistan and nine in Sri Lanka. The eagerly awaited encounter between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is slated for September 2. India finds itself placed in Group A, alongside Pakistan and Nepal. On the other hand, Group B comprises Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. As the competition progresses, the top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Four round, with two teams eventually securing direct passage to the finals.
